At Lofiest, we believe in transparency and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Our Privacy Commitment
TL;DR: We collect minimal data necessary to run the service. We don't know who you are, we don't track your personal information, and we never sell your data to anyone.
Data We Collect
Anonymous Device Identifier
When you use Lofiest, we generate a random identifier on your device. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, phone number, or any personal information. It lets us count unique users and understand how the app is used, without identifying you personally. You can reset this identifier by clearing the app's data in your device settings.
Approximate Geographic Region (Country)
We detect the country you're connecting from using your IP address. We only store the country code (for example, "US" or "TR"), not your IP address or precise location. This helps us understand where our users are and improve regional performance.
Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app — which features are popular, how often tracks are played, and whether people find what they're looking for. The events we track include: app sessions, track plays, skips, ambient sound activations, Pomodoro sessions, subscription events, and whether ads are shown or dismissed. None of these events contain personal information. Firebase Analytics is a Google service and follows Google's data practices.
On our own server, we also collect anonymous usage data:
- Track play counts — how many times tracks are played (not what you specifically listen to)
- Daily/hourly request patterns — helps us understand peak usage times
- Error logs — when something goes wrong, we log the error type (not your data)
Ad-Related Data
We serve ads through Google AdMob. If you consent to personalized ads (users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland are asked explicitly), AdMob may use limited data about your device to show you more relevant ads. If you don't consent, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized. You can change your consent at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Go Ad-Free, we use RevenueCat to process the subscription. RevenueCat handles payment verification through your Google Play account. We do not store your payment details.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we never collect:
- Your name, email, or any contact information
- Your precise location or GPS data
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Your browsing history or app usage outside Lofiest
- Any biometric data
- Payment or financial information — payments are processed by Google Play. We never receive your card number or billing details.
Third-Party Services
Lofiest uses the following third-party services:
Google AdMob
The mobile app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. If you consent to personalized ads, AdMob may use limited device data to show more relevant ads. Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked for explicit consent. You can change your preference at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy.
Firebase Analytics (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics to track anonymous usage analytics — app sessions, feature usage, and performance. No personally identifiable information is collected through Firebase.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status for the Go Ads-Free plan. RevenueCat may collect: a pseudonymous app user ID, purchase history, and subscription status. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat.
MaxMind GeoLite2
We use MaxMind's GeoLite2 database to look up your country from your IP address. This lookup happens entirely on our server — no data about our users is shared with MaxMind.
OtakuGifs API
We use OtakuGifs to display anime GIFs. See OtakuGifs Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details.
Google Play Billing
Subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details. Google's handling of payment data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Data
The limited data we collect is used solely to:
- Operate the service - Stream music, display content
- Improve the app - Understand usage patterns, fix bugs
- Prevent abuse - Rate limiting, blocking malicious requests
- Generate statistics - Anonymous, aggregated data only
Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure servers
- We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Access to data is restricted to the developer only
- We do not share your data with third parties (except as required by law)
Data Retention
We retain anonymized usage statistics for service improvement. Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal information to delete. The random device identifier on your device can be reset by:
- Reinstalling the app
- Clearing app data
Subscription status (ad-free entitlement) is stored via RevenueCat to verify your plan.
Children's Privacy
Lofiest is a general audience app. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any users, this naturally extends to children as well.
Your Rights
- Clear app data to reset your anonymous device identifier at any time (via your Android device settings).
- Opt out of personalized ads at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy (available to users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland).
- Cancel your subscription via your Google Play account settings.
- Request data deletion by contacting us at contact@mhmd.io. Because we don't store personal identifiers, the main thing we can delete is any server-side record associated with your anonymous identifier (if you share it with us).
Changes to This Policy
We last updated this privacy policy on 2026-04-18. When we make material changes, we'll update this date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
